Company suffers major loss and placement stabilizes operations
Client
A $10 million private marketing services company
Objective
Following the unexpected death of its founder and president, this family-owned company based in Southwest Florida was shaken to its core. The founder’s wife/business partner agreed to run operations temporarily until a replacement could be found, which was proving to be a longer commitment than desired.
Over the past six years, since the founder’s passing, the company made two hires for the position of President, both of which were unsuccessful. Extremely discouraged by the process, company leadership was faced with the critical issue of no strategic direction or long-term planning. They turned to Bell Oaks for much-needed assistance in stabilizing their operations.
Process
Our consultants visited the client site for a day and interviewed key executives from the company. Through the series of meetings, we were able to determine and understand the challenges they faced during the hiring process, as well as identify potential issues that we were likely to encounter. The site visit and face-to-face interaction was also essential for building trust with a client that was frustrated with their situation and uncertain that a solution would be found.
Results
We helped them more clearly articulate a job description for the position of President and mutually determined what candidate factors were to be considered "deal-breakers." After an extensive and focused search over the course of six months, we extended an offer to the most qualified candidate who accepted the position. Our team also handled the contract negotiation and relocation process for the Atlanta-based candidate.
