Objective
The client offers an exceedingly niche-oriented service to the marketplace. It provides highly-specialized expertise to companies in need of innovation and problem solving by connecting them with retired and veteran scientists and engineers. Bell Oaks was hired to find qualified candidates for an Account Executive position with an international beverage company, with which the client works.
Given the unique nature of the client’s offering, the Bell Oaks team member leading the engagement had previous experience in an industry that required a balance of consultative experience and tactical expertise. Additionally, a challenge manifested in the position itself. The Account Executive role needed someone with an atypical dual talent of technical expertise and a consultative sales mentality.
Process
This position was vital to the beverage company’s future profit goals by introducing Baby Boomers back into the workforce who could assist with developing innovative products and services. The Bell Oaks team developed a competency base profile customized specifically for the proficiencies needed. It required outlining skill sets for two separate jobs then marrying them in a way that was realistic for a single person to possess. Bell Oaks then set out to recruit candidates with transferable skills and experiences.
Results
Upon reviewing credentials and interviewing applicants, we presented the client with a group of uniquely-qualified candidates to consider. In less than two months after Bell Oaks was engaged, the client chose one of the initial candidates we presented as its hire.
